The Bible is the Word of God. The Scriptures are recognized as absolute truth (Psa.119:142, Jn. 17:17) and are integrated into every subject area. Beliefs, such as evolution, that do not align with the Bible, are considered false.
Cultivate leaders and servants for Christ (2 Tim. 2:2). Teachers and staff will be those who have trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior and demon- strate a Christian life to students and families. Involvement in the local church and community will be emphasized.
PACA is a safe, nurturing, family atmosphere. While it is the parent’s pri- mary responsibility for the education of their children (Duet. 4:9-10, 11:19), PACA partners with Christian families in this endeavor. The home, church and school form a triple cord of support for the family.
Graduates will be prepared for high school. PACA teachers are focused on making disciples (Matt. 28:19). This means the students will be prepared academically, spiritually, socially and physically (Luke 2:52) for high school and beyond based on the student’s ability and desire to learn.
Graduates of Park Avenue Christian Academy will be bold servant leaders equipped to fulfill God's purposes for their lives spiritually, academically, socially and physi- cally.
Park Avenue Christian Academy is a Christian school that supports families by providing a biblically based education, cultivating bold servants for Christ and equipping children to fulfill God’s purposes.
Our Statement of Faith
PPark Avenue Christian Academy is a part of the ministry of Park Avenue Baptist Church. It was founded and functions upon the basic fundamental principals of the Word of God and it espouses the historic Christian view of life as presented in the Bible. The following statements of faith and practice are held by every Park Avenue Christian Academy administrator, faculty member, and staff employee.
We affirm one God Who is manifested in three persons. We affirm the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth, Who created all things, both visible and invisible, for His own glory and pleasure. (Genesis 1:1; 2:7; Exodus 3:14; 6:2- 3; Isaiah 43:3, 15; 64:8; Matthew 6:9; 7:11; 23:9; 28:19; Mark 1:9-11; John 4:24; 5:26; 14:6-13; 17:1-8; Acts 1:7; Romans 8:14-15; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 4:6)
We affirm our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is one in substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; Who for us and for our salvation came down from Heaven; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin; Who lived a perfect life; Who was crucified, died for our sins, and was buried; Who was raised bodily on the third day according to the Scriptures; Who ascended into Heaven; Who sits at the Father’s right hand, having received all authority and is Lord of all; Who shall come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; and whose kingdom shall never end. (Genesis 18:1; Psalm 2:7; 110:1; Isaiah 7:14, 53; Matthew 1:18-23; Mark 1:1; 3:11; Luke 1:35; 4:41; 22:70; 24:46; John 1:1 -18, 29; Revelation 1:13-16; 5:9-14; 12:10-11; 13:8; 19:16)
We affirm the Holy Spirit, who proceeded from the Father and the Son; Who is equal with the Father and the Son; Who is the baptizer and filler, teacher and comforter, indweller and uniter of God’s people, author and interpreter of the Holy Scriptures, revealer of our Lord, and giver of all the things of God. (Genesis 1:2; Psalm 51:11; 139:7; Isaiah 61:1-3; Matthew 1:18; 3:16; 4:1; 12:28-32; Mark 1:10, 12; Luke 1:35; 4:1, 18-19; 11:13; 12:12; 24:49; John 4:24; 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7-14; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4, 38; 19:1-6; Revelation 1:10; 22:17)
We affirm one universal church, which is the Body of Christ, and the uniting of all people who have been chosen, called, and justified by God. (Matthew 16:15- 19; 18:15-20; Acts 2:41-42, 47; 5:11-14; 6:3-6; 13:1-3; 14:23, 27; 15:1-30; 16:5; 20:28; Romans 1:7; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 3:16; 5:4-5; 7:17; 9:13-14; 12; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:8-11, 21; 5:22-32; Philippians 1:1; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 2:9-14; 3:1-15; 4:14; Hebrews 11:39-40; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Reve- lation 2-3; 21:2-3)
We affirm the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. (Exodus 24:4; Deuterono- my 4:1-2; 17:19; Joshua 8:34; Psalm 19: 7-10; 119:11, 89, 105, 140; Isaiah 34:16; 40:8; Jeremiah 15:16; 36:1-32; Matthew 5:17-18; 22:29; Luke 21:33; 24:44-46; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Romans 15:4; 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:15 -17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. Genesis 1:26-27
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: The uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture, Genesis 2:18-25. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other, 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5: Hebrews 13:4. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God, Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Park Avenue Christian Academy as a part of the local body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the PACA members and the community, it is imperative that all families of PACA, and those employed by the school in any capacity to include those who serve as volunteers, all agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality, 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22.
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity, Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of PACA.
We affirm that all the will of God is included in these two commandments: “The foremost is, ‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30, 31)
