Vision
Technology must be an integral part of the educational process, which will establish an
environment for learning and success by teaming the power of technology with the power
of skillful teachers.
Areas of Focus
The technology focus areas to be addressed in this technology plan
are identified in these five long-term goals:
1. Enhance Student Learning Opportunities and Experiences
2. Improve Teacher, Administrator, and Staff Training
3. Strengthen Instructional and Administrative Productivity
4. Increase Parent and Community Communications
5. Adoption of emerging technology
Mission Statement
Goal I – Information Technology resources to fully support instruction, research,
and administration
A. A minimum student to computer ratio with network access of 3:1 by the end of the
2009-2010 school year.
B. Develop and implement standards based resources for Park Avenue Christian
Academy to include:
• Instructional resources
• Digital/Video cameras
• Scanners
• Networked Color laser printers
• Web publishing resources
• Multimedia software and resources
• Multimedia projectors
• Interactive technologies
C.Assistive technologies must be made available at all levels as needed.
Goal II –-Professional Development support to ensure all teachers and
administrators, not only use technology as a tool but understand how it enhances
classroom instruction.
A. Develop teacher competencies and minimum expectations for
technology integration- with a goal of reaching the NETS-T
B. Develop administrative competencies and minimum expectations for technology
integration- with a goal of reaching the NETS-A
C. Ongoing staff development that emphasizes
• Technology as a tool
• Student-centered learning environment
• Information literacy
• Real-world application and problem solving strategies
• “Best practices” in technology integration
• Collaboration of opportunities outside the school using distance learning
resources
• Legal and ethical use of the Internet and electronic resources
Goal III – Technology infrastructure to support connecting classrooms, libraries,
and administration to resources within the school and to take full advantage of
resources outside the school available through the global Internet.
A. Bandwidth that meets school need to support both Intranet and
Internet integration.
B. A server that meets school educational needs.
C. Web based Email service for all staff and students (grades 4-8)
